[When she does speak, neither her nor Kunzite's expressions can be seen.]
MINAKO: Ah, geez... I have been dreaming about the day YOU'D ask ME out on a date, hoping against hope, just like when I left my wand home. / But you're right, Kunzite. We don't have the luxury of naivety. / What else don't you remember?
[Her eyes burn as she speaks, and Kunzite's expression drops to shock and confusion, his brow furrowed, his lips parted slightly, his eyes fixed on her.]
MINAKO: Do you remember who gave you the body you're in right now? / Do you remember everything you did withen you were Kunzite of the Dark Kingdom? Do you remember being Kunzite of Endymion's Guard enough for me to trust you? / Do you remember why you betrayed your prince and kingdom enough to trust yourself? Do you remember what we meant to each other in the Silver Millennium?
[Kunzite falters and Minako surpasses him, stepping forward into the light to join the other girls and leaving him in the shadows, her hair billowing behind her.]
MINAKO: Once you have the answers you need in order to promise you won't be a threat to us again, I'll gladly go on that date with you, Kunzite. / Until then, I have a duty to fulfil.

I love this! I tend to prefer the PGSM Minako to the Anime Minako, and this (seemingly) sudden switch to her more serious side is amazing. I love how Kunzite is caught off guard by it.

Hope you're doing well.

(And yes, I think I already have an account but I'm stuck at work and being lazy and doing it as guest is easier.)

ainobethie (Guest) commented (July 16th, 2012, 1:40 pm):

But still. I totally get where she's coming from and that's classic Minako for ya. When in doubt, stay in character. Good move!

hessian (Guest) commented (July 16th, 2012, 1:56 pm):

I started reading this comic yesterday! I was (am) totally in love, and I just happened to refresh my window this morning to see that you've posted another page! I love everything about this - the art, the characterization, the humor. As an old Sailor Moon fan, this comic has gotten me nostalgic and even more excited for the new anime in 2013! Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into this comic - I'll be checking back frequently for the newest updates. :)

Ringo (Guest) commented (July 16th, 2012, 2:04 pm):

Hm. I wonder what Zoisite has to say about that. Maybe there will be a love triangle or something?

kumkwat (Guest) commented (July 16th, 2012, 3:13 pm):

That wasn't Minako. That was Sailor Venus, the leader of the inner senshis. I knew she'd say no, but I wasn't sure why. But I do understand her fully. I guess this is kind a turn in the story. When Kunzite tells the other kings, they might understand why the sailors haven't been that nice. Zoisite is probably the one who's all "That's not true! We are good! We're here for Endymion" and then rushes out to talk to Ami, because she seems to be the most rational one.
And then there's fluff! :D
Okay maybe not, but I do hope we get some Ami/Zoisite action soon, because I think these two got kinda left behind ;)

Subaru (Guest) commented (July 16th, 2012, 5:59 pm):

She said no, and really makes sense why too, she has a duty to perform first before doing what she wants to do. And I can tell she was wrestling with her feelings too. Honestly, I wasn't dissapointed, I loved it! And I LOVE THIS WEBCOMIC! It totally revived the love I had for the series.

Speaking of reviving...... OMG THERE'S A NEW ADAPTION/REMAKE??? Wait, next summer? -sigh- Well, If I survived waiting for Legend of Korra, then I can survive this too... but its SO HARD!!!! TT-TT

Jenbunny commented (July 16th, 2012, 9:25 pm):

I loved this ^^ I really really loved this!

ttrannasaurus (Guest) commented (July 17th, 2012, 1:00 am):

my flawless queen Minako. lol I daresay this is a much better way to get Kunzite's attention.

Charlie Chaplin 2 commented (July 17th, 2012, 2:21 am):

Seriously, that last panel was absolutely stunning. Her back facing him, her hair blowing in the wind... it's so damn pretty, and the impact is absolutely huge, especially with the bomb she's just dropped on him. I don't know what's going on with her but it's damnably intriguing and I cannot wait until the next part.

I want to see Kunzite's reaction, because he did not know about Minako's deeper, more substantial self. And now it seems like she remembers EVERYTHING. How very interesting.

I have to applaud you for this page, the dialogue, the art, everything about it. I think this is my favourite page yet. I even like all the little back dot thingies, they add gritty character to the scene.

I hope everything's ok with your personal issues and I am so glad you're back.

This was awesome.

mealchan commented (July 17th, 2012, 5:39 am):

Definitely have to see Kunzite's reaction face for this. I bet he'll fall in love with her too.

starmie (Guest) commented (July 17th, 2012, 6:29 am):

This opens a lot more questions, like whether or not the other senshi have also been in relationships with the other Shitennou in the past, whether or not the senshi have also retained their memories or if it's just Minako, if Minako got back her memories because of what happened to her heart cage or whatever, and how much Kunzite actually remembers. I didn't expect Mina to have her SM memories. Awesome twist, Frizz. :)

happyGuest (Guest) commented (July 17th, 2012, 7:44 am):

The last panel is awsome!!!
Her hair, the body... so pride, accrue... you can see the different between "Minako" and "Sailor Venus, the leader". Kunzite, open your eyes!
I love your comic very much!!!

carnoviel commented (July 17th, 2012, 10:38 am):

AHHHH. I love Minako. ...not sure if it's a girl crush or a real crush anymore...

Meara (Guest) commented (July 17th, 2012, 1:15 pm):
Wow....Just Wow
Minako played Kunzite.

Minako completely *played* Kunzite. Take a moment and think about what this means.

Silly, fluffy, boy-crazy (and occasionally slightly psychotic) Minako just handed the serious, pragmatic (and also occasionally slightly psychotic) leader of the storied Shitennou his very fine butt on a silver platter - and he never saw it coming.

I am in awe of the skill with which you are presenting this amazing tale. That last panel where Minako is walking away, the elegance and simplicity of the lines of her hair and body is utterly breath-taking.

I'm sorry that you are facing hard times. One of the odd truths of life for creative people is that there is an uneasy, complicated dance between pain and creativity. So please accept some well earned love and respect from this middle-aged story-teller. I've been mentoring young writers for over a decade and it's the joy of coming across talent like yours that keeps me going. You are utterly brilliant.

Take a bow. You've more than earned it.

Juliana (Guest) commented (July 17th, 2012, 5:18 pm):

Wow! Hello Venus! Because this is Venus not Minako, I'll miss her, but I'm happy to see the senshi leader <3

Kihin Ranno (Guest) commented (July 17th, 2012, 8:50 pm):
So for some reason, I was under the impression that I couldn't comment without having some kind of account thingy, but luckily I just discovered this was not the case. Therefore now I will bombard you with love and compliments every time you update.

Because woah.

This right here is why Minako/Venus is my favorite. Because everyone thinks she's just "crazy ribbon lady," and they write her off as vapid and uninteresting and kind of insane (I'm looking at you Kunzite). But she is so much more than that, so much more awesome than that. And she played a long game here, which I don't think anybody saw coming. But now she's put Kunzite in his place, let him know what's up (COMMUNICATION, OH HOW I LOVE YOU), and been fair but firm in regards to his goodness/potential for going bad again.

Minako is so awesome and you are so awesome for writing this. <3

Oh, and I'll just echo this: that last panel is so boss I CAN'T EVEN DEAL WITH IT. It may have been even cooler if that was a whole page, but you have the knowledge of the comics and the art things.

(Also, holy crap, it's Meara!)

Sub Zippo (Guest) commented (July 18th, 2012, 2:48 am):
Did not see anything like that coming. I love when Mina pulls a 180, and that the effects of the attack aren't as clear as I thought they'd be.

What does she mean about the 'scoped you guys out' comment?

Blue (Guest) commented (July 18th, 2012, 6:55 am):

To the person above: I'm assuming she means that her going gaga over Kunzite was (at least partly) an act to scop out their intentions and how much they remember and stuff. Apparently she wasn't exactly... Satisfied with the results. So for now she's pretty much breaking up with. At least that's what I got from her little speech here. Well except the fact that the theory of Master 19 stealing her love for Kunzite wasn't true. Cause she clearly said she does. So once again it's up to debate. What DID he take from her?

Luina (Guest) commented (July 18th, 2012, 4:02 pm):

Venus is just stunning on this page. I agree with the others, this isn't Minako anymore. It's great to see the leader of the senshi back in charge but I also pity her. It must be hard to reject the man you love in this way.
For a few seconds, I asked myself if she is crying on tha last panel, but we will see. =)

I really really love your comic and will wait impatiently for the next page.
(but take your time, there are more important things than this!)

GeneralWinter commented (July 21st, 2012, 10:48 am):
Go Mina :)

yumecosmos commented (July 24th, 2012, 7:43 am):

Yaaaay Frizzy is back! Not only is Frizzy back but NEW SAILOR MOON ANIME SERIES!!! So excited right now!

And what a post to return with! That right there is why Minako is my favorite. She goes from goofball to no-nonsense in a heartbeat. All this time Kunzite has come across as the crafty, slick one and she totally played him. The light in that last panel is just right--really suits her character at that moment.

I like others have to wonder now... what DID Master 19 take from her?

dormantfire commented (July 30th, 2012, 2:22 am):

nice. I think that was a very in-character response for her ^_^

Les (Guest) commented (August 8th, 2012, 8:02 pm):
I'm going to put my two cents in on what was taken from her "cage." We saw in Hotaru's dream that an image of her Glaive was taken from her. Now, we've seen an image of a heart taken from Minako. I believe their ability to transform and become a senshi has been taken away.

In any case, Minako is a bamf. She's always been my favorite.

Jac. (Guest) commented (August 30th, 2012, 8:18 pm):
love this.
I keep coming back to this page and re-reading it. It gives me chills! YES. This is the Minako I love!

tsukit (Guest) commented (November 18th, 2012, 11:53 pm):
Holy crap!
So, I just found this comic today. LOVING it!! Just had to comment on this one... Minako. Kicks. ASS!

I'm guessing what was stolen was... her senshi powers?

yokogreyword commented (August 3rd, 2013, 7:01 pm):

OMG Minako, you BADASS! <3 <3 <3

shadowsphere21 (Guest) commented (January 31st, 2019, 12:50 pm):

This is why Kunzite and Venus belong together - both are highly intelligent and can smell when something is up. No doubt Minako was listening to that conversation between Kunzite and Master Nineteen VERY CLOSELY.

But OOF! You really gut punched him there, Venus. Kunzite feels bad enough already. But it's true - she can't cut him a break now. Not with so much left unanswered. And she KNOWS he may have some of the answers.

It could be me, but I also feel some love in her words -- Venus is trying to jog his memory. She wants him to remember -- for their sake as well as those of her friends.

Excellent writing here, Frizzy. The artwork - without question, you know how I feel. I tip my hat off to you :D
