So, the premise of this event seems pretty simple so far, right? The girls have been set on a romantic scavenger hunt in search of answers, but with Ami's unfortunate allergic reaction and Minako's two working brain cells, it's up to you to help them.
Excuse me while I smash the fourth wall for a second...
There we go, much easier to see now. Basically, the codes you see are different to the codes that Minako and Ami see. While the answers reveal a URL to you, finding that URL will show Ami and Minako the place where the next letter is... makes sense, right?
Basically, solve the puzzle/code on the letter here to find a URL. Use that URL to go to the next letter, and repeat until you eventually find the mysterious M.M.
Because this is one of 4KH's harder events, and there are some readers whose first language is not English, you're allowed to work together on this one. You can do so by leaving 'hints' on this page for people who still haven't found the next letter yet. You can't post full answers, show people the whole puzzle before they get there, and you can't talk about what happens in the comic(s). I'll be giving out additional hints if you get really stuck (or if it just turns out I'm terrible at this, which is much more likely). Please only leave hints if people have expressed that they are having difficulty. I also may have to remove comments that are too sledgehammer-y. Nothing personal!
Like the Hallowe'en event, there will be a few 'prizes' there for you at the end, and like the Christmas event, whatever happens is a part of 4KH canon. Which means this 'M.M.' exists and the events that transpired will be remembered by the characters later in the story.
That's about it, I think! I hope you have fun, and Happy Valentine's Day!
The event is set to end on February 14th, though this deadline may be extended if necessary.
LOVE LOVE PUNCH~!! ♥
Also, for future reference, there are no brackets in any of the URLs. If any appear in letters, it is to help define words.
i was wayyyyy too busy with homework to stick with it. did the first one in about ten minues spent half an hour on the second one and i couldnt figure it out. any hints? i read the letter... didnt help much..
Kimberly - It's not an anagram, but you've probably picked up on that already. If you think you know the clue in the letter, then you might want to try googling it to see if you can come up with the kind of code it might be. Once you figure out the code, it's really just trial and error.
HakuKazu - You have...? That, er, wasn't intentional, so it may have been a slip on my behalf. Regardless, M.M.'s gender doesn't really come into play within the codes.
I'm not sure what hints I can give other than those I've already given, but I get the feeling I'll have to repeat myself. Puzzle two is not an anagram, and there is a hint within the letter as to what kind of a code it is.
As for puzzle three, the numbers in the list are all double-digit numbers; like 05, 17, etc. Also, those two-digit numbers come in pairs.
The 2nd one still doesn't make since to me and my friend. I don't think any leads have helped so far and nothing is making sense out of it. This really feels like it was overly thought into where only a select few who truly qualify within smarts like Amy can figure this out. That or a hacker...so simple minded folks are just going to have problems with it till no end.
I've been lurking for a while. I'm from the forums and V directed me here. So, I'm pretty sure I've solved the third puzzle, and did the search, but I'm not sure if I ended up in the right place. Should I be seeing what I'm seeing? I don't know how else to phrase it.
HakuKazu - The second one is really very simple when you know the trick. As I said, there's a hint within the puzzle as to what kind of a code it is, so maybe if you're stuck you could try googling it. If I say anything more I'll be practically telling you the answer.
Li - Hi, nice to meet you. Uhh, I think you'd know straight away if you did the right search or not. The picture next to the search result should tell you straight away, so if you can't tell immediately, I'd guess it probably wasn't the right search, unfortunately. D:
Yes, that's the hint as to what kind of a code it is (not an anagram).
Really, the way to solve the code when you figure out what kind it is is just through trial and error. It's somewhat fiddly but not difficult.
Li - Well, providing that your search is accurate (which it probably is), you should find an Australian with the same search criteria, a Brit with only half, and finally someone from Japan with the correct criteria and a relevant picture. Are you sure there isn't another part you haven't looked at? Because I haven't had any others with this problem... Though you may want to check back in a few minutes since that website is prone to problems.
Searched again, this time using spaces between what my geeeneeous mind came up with and now have more than random aussie. Clearly despite my code-breaking skills, the rules of grammar confound me.
Ok, on the fourth one- I'm pretty sure I've figure out the answers, but I'm having trouble with the link. Do you just throw it all together in the link or is there a method to the madness and you have to seperate it somehow? Am I making sense? Help!
Kimberly - You're making sense, don't worry. x3 For the fourth puzzle, the answers go into the URL in the order that they appear in the letter, in one long line. If you're still having some difficulty then maybe trie alternate spellings?
SailorDream - It doesn't have anything to do with the beats of the poem. In fact, the poem itself doesn't even need to be a poem for the sake of the code.
Li - You can use the larger prize any time you like, but it might be advisable to save the smaller ones until after the event is finished. And, congratulations!
Thanks, Frizzy. Sidenote, can I use one of your images to make an icon? You'd get all credit, all I want to do is shrink it and add a caption. I am not so great with the arting, and am in great awe of your talent.
The fourth one...still
I feel like a complete idiot. I have the answers- and I KNOW they're right, I can't possibly think of anything else that would fit- and I've tried every possible alternative spelling but the link is just not working.
I know it's only me that's screwy, but, for the sake of asking, is the link down?
...I'm sorry, Frizzy. I know you've got to be tired of me by now~
Kimberly - I'm not tired of you, don't worry! x3 I'm glad to see that you're enjoying it so much. ♥
The link appears to be working for me... are you sure that there are no dashes between words that you are using? The answer goes into the URL as just one long word... if you're still having trouble, then you can send me the answer in a message and I'll tell you if it's right or not for certain.
There is 0% chance that I can solve any of these on my own. There's a better chance that I'll launch a rocket from Ft. Lauderdale than even figure out one of these. Thus, I'm going to whine to the forums for someone to help me!! I WANNA SEE THE END!!
Ok, the first one was very very easy, the second one too (you just had to fiddle a bit. You could have made us fiddle much more given the kind of code, Frizzy. Thank you for having mercy on us XD )
@Linz: the link is working fine on my end. Make sure there are no extra spaces and the slashes and dots are in the right place again? :3
BTW, I'm stuck on the poem+numbers. 5 minutes past and still no actual clue *sweatdrops*
I think I solved the last one (great job creating it all by the way),
but when I try entering the url it keeps saying "not found"...
I checked my spelling, and tried changing it...nothing... D:
but I'm pretty sure it's correct...
are you really sure the site's up?
Maybe I'm just being an idiot over something...
oh, well, I'll try again tomorrow...maybe then I'll understand what I'm getting wrong...
The page is definitely 'up' and can be accessed if you have the right words. I can understand your frustration since I hate these sorts of things, too, because even if you've got all of them right but one you will be 'wrong'. D:
That being said, puzzle #4 is meant to be the hardest puzzle, so it's natural to get snagged on it. Also, clues for it probably won't be released -just yet- since it is very early in the event.
Well, alright, maybe some clues. > _>;;
Can't figure out the third challenge for the life of me to the point where I've become dyslexic (can't even spell it right). After this challenge is over, are you going to be posting the comics up here? Because I just don't get what the code type on the third one is...
At LAST *_*
The very last word in the 4th code had me running in circles for a while ^__^;;.
Actually I 've involved some of my online Italian friends in the game too. They really enjoyed both the game and the ending *group applause*
LOL XDDD , I was hoping for a certain scene to happen just like you drew it . Yay!
And one of the two celebratory buttons is just like that too *grins*. My connection is a bit slow at the moment though, I can't upload the pic so that I can paste it in my blog . Do you mind sending me the html code for the 2nd button via pm? :)
I was a little sad at first the the link on the second letter is broken, but since you posted all the pages here anyway, I can still crack the codes, and just get my reward by hitting "Next page."
So, thank you for making this puzzle accessible for people in the future. :)
