The event still has about five days left, so these are sort of medium-helpful hints. Later in the event there will be sledgehammer hints to try and let everyone finish in time.
Thankyou very much for still sticking with the event! I know codes aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I figured it was somewhat suitable. Next V-Day will hopefully be more do-able...
Naturally, don't read these if you don't want clues. Keep fighting!
There is no clue for code one. |: If you don't get it then you're overthinking it. Seriously. Dumb down! Dx
Code Two: It's not an anagram! D:
The kind of code it is is hinted at within the letter itself. If you don't recognise it, maybe try googling around for what you think it might be? You'll find many websites that tell you exactly how to crack it. After that, it's just a process of elimination.
Yes, the answer will make sense. It'll actually form a whole sentence. And it fits the spacing of the letters given (so the first word has three letters, second word has five, etc.).
The numbers within the long string of numbers are double digits; 07, 28, etc. Furthermore, those double digits come in pairs. So, if it started with '0728', then we would know that it meant '07' and '28', and that those two numbers had something to do with each other.
The numbers are there to help you make two words out of the poem. So yes, the two lines of numbers correspond to the two words.
This one is the most difficult, so if you're stuck on it - good! You're meant to be! e ne
Most of you seem to have figured out that you have to change the words in aqua, and that those changed words are the password. The changed words are all synomyms - that means they have the same meaning as the aqua word but have are different. For example, as most of you have also figured out, 'got up' means 'rose'.
The word that you need to change them to will make sense in the context of the letter - for example, 'got up' could also mean 'stood'. But "Our love has blossomed like a stood" doesn't make any sense, whereas "Our love has blossomed like a rose" does. All the words are like that.
Two words require changing of their spelling after being solved to fit in with the poem. These altered versions of the words are the ones you need to use, along with the other three, in order to have the complete answer. For example, if one of the sentences was "I want to buy you a 24-root vegetable ring", then the answer for 'root vegetable' would be "carrot". However, for it to make sense in the letter, you would need to change the spelling to 'carat'. 'Carat', in this case, is the correct word, not 'carrot'.
And yes, the correct page is up + fully functional.
If you're having difficulty with the fourth one, feel free to send me your answers via a PM on SmackJeeves or a Note on DeviantArt.
Again, more clues will be released later. ♥
Good luck! I'm surprised by how well you're doing! I'll have to try harder again next year...
Since the event only has four more days, it's time for some sledgehammer hints to help you all solve the puzzle in time!
Naturally, don't read these if you still want to try and work it out with the information you have right now.
There are two words within the letter that hint as to what kind of a code it is. If you are not familiar with that kind of code, then a google search will show you many websites that teach you how to crack it.
If you still can't find the right hint within the letter, though, here's another hint;
I came, I saw, I coded.
You are trying to make two words out of the poem. Maybe those numbers are there to try and help you choose which parts of the poem to use?
Word One ('got up') was so obvious I revealed it before, so, no more hints for that one.
Word Two ('understands') is not figure, though I'm starting to wish I had used that instead. Maybe it's a word that goes along with the other words in that sentence, like eyes, and lips...?
Word Three ('reserve'). Maybe it would help if you stopped looking at it as a noun, but as another kind of word.
Word Four ('skin') seems to be fairly obvious to most people, so I won't give any hints.
Word Five ('rooms') is another tricky one. It's actually a word that has appeared in every letter up until this point (and I mean prominently - not 'you' or 'our').
If you can think of a different way to say "I'd like to reserve some rooms", then you can figure out both words.
Good luck, and Happy Valentine's Day!
And P.S. - Thankyou everyone who's reading and enjoyint it! Glad to hear that you think it was worth it!
okay, woo hoo! I finally figured out the second one, I was just typing it wrong. Oops...and there's no glitch in when you posted it...I really did spend two hours or so but different time zones I guess...whatever I don't know! Thanks for the hints!
Oops, posted these on the wrong page. < <;;
Chibi Jennifer - Uhm, I'm not sure what you're doing, but the second puzzle will make sense when you decipher it. It'll be a whole sentence that makes sense. c:
BLL - Actually, it has mercifully little to do with maths, except counting.
The page with the fourth letter has been updated to include all five words underneath. After all, the puzzle is hard enough without being able to read the words. D: Sorry.
Ha, thank you!
I know many people are complaining, but I'd like to thank you for all the fun I've been having with this! A friend of mine and I have been working on these puzzles most of the afternoon. She got the first one, I got the next two, and now I'm feverishly working on the last one and enjoying every moment of it.
I'm on the last one, I am pretty sure I have all the words, I'm just trying to figure out what to do with them...
Ugh... still stuck on number 3. So let's see, to review: Number pairings, err... counting... err.... curses, I feel like I'm missing something big here. Are you supposed to use the numbers to count the letters out or add them together to count them out or ugh... this is going to keep me up all night... Oh well, I have insomnia! ^_______________^ (Yeah, I think I've cracked some more. MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!)
wooohooo. only one code left
The key to the third code came to me while curling in a whimpering ball of pain this morning (monthly cramps, yay? ^^;;; XD ) .
Now I'm struggling a bit on two on the second and fourth words for the final code, even after checking your hints for clues. Curse my non English native-speaker brain >.<
OMG! I solved the 4th one on my 1st try after reading your hint! That last page is awesome!!! I had such a wonderful time playing the events you set up. Thank you! I can't wait to know how the comic will progress after V-day >_<
I commented earlier in the day but seems it didn't show up.
I found your comic a few days ago and fell in love with it (I'm now still trying to figure out two words of the last puzzle, but eh, English's not my first language and I already suck at solving puzzles).
In the meantime, I colored a drawing of yours I really liked - without permission, but I hope you don't mind. I won't be claiming it as mine. It's nothing much, I just wanted to see the Shitennou with some color.
Here it is: http://tinyurl.com/yf4xma5
I hope you like it!
Rmeyers - About the comment earlier, I'm not sure why it happens, but other people have said that their comments get eaten sometimes too. Thankyou for trying again, though.
Wow, that's really beautiful! Thankyou so much, I love it! I like how you chose ot leave their clothes white, they look almost angelic - Jadeite especially. Kunzite looks really nice too, you certaily brought them to life! Thankyou! ♥ Thanks for showing me!
Now it's Number 4...
Well, with some help (from the ever wonderful VO1 and of course, your lovely hints) I finally managed to claw past number 3 and get to number 4... which is hard, since I can think of so many words to use for those words that can fit there. Hmm... maybe I should PM you to see if I'm getting close? (Pity I can't devote more time to this, since I have to complete a bunch of assignments. Real life can stink... but it pays the bills! ^_^)
Hahahahahaha!! What an awesome ending to the Valentine's hunt! That was hilarious!
I got stuck on 3 until I read the first hint about the numbers, but I made it! Yay!
This was so much fun! And I did not in any way expect THAT to happen ^_^
don't give up, Titan!
yup, my HeliUsa fan fellow, just follow the given hints (boht in the comic and in this page. Frizzy gave you a pretty big hint if you look up above in the Hint section: 'I came, I saw, I coded'. It's a very close paraphrase of famous saying by a very famous person :) ) and just Google them as they are. Really, it's worth the effort ^^.
if only you came to me after sleeping on it for a night like #2 and #3! Nonetheless, I'm determined see this to the end (even if I look like zombie!Ami when I'm finished!). Any official time yet on when the plug's being pulled on the mystery?
